filament is an AU/VST3 plugin that hosts up to 64 AU and VST3 instruments internally. Available for macOS (AU, VST3, Standalone) and Windows (VST3, Standalone).

System Requirements

macOS

  • macOS 13 (Ventura) or later
  • AU, VST3, or Standalone

Windows

  • Windows 10 (64-bit) or later
  • VST3 or Standalone

Download & Install

Download the installer for your operating system from your account. macOS includes AU, VST3, and Standalone formats. Windows includes VST3 and Standalone formats.

The MuseScore Bridge is an optional installer component. Install it if you want to send cleaned Filament performances into MuseScore.

First Launch

  1. 1Open the plugin in your DAW or launch the standalone application. No additional MIDI setup is required.
  2. 2Click the instrument slot on an output row to load a plugin. You'll browse directly from your plugin folders—selected plugins are added for quick access later.
  3. 3In the routing matrix, connect an input voice to the output row where you loaded your instrument. Play your MIDI keyboard to hear sound.

  • VST3: /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/
  • User data: Formalabs Filament

Windows

  • VST3: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\
  • App: C:\Program Files\Formalabs\filament\
  • User data: Formalabs Filament

Troubleshooting

Plugin not appearing in DAW

Try rescanning your plugin folders in your DAW preferences. On macOS, ensure the plugin isn't blocked in System Settings → Privacy & Security. On Windows, ensure Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable is installed.
